Marg Golberg, Chair (mgolberg@communityoptions.ab.ca), (swgilroy@shaw.ca)

Margaret’s 25 years as a professional in early learning and care has included being a childcare staff, kindergarten teacher, aide to children with disabilities, child care program director, researcher and interagency facilitator. She completed her Masters in Education in Educational Psychology at University of Alberta in 2005. Throughout her career, she has been an active advocate for quality early learning and child care and better wages and working conditions for early childhood educators. She is currently the Executive Director of Community Options: A Society for Children and Families.

Sherrill Brown, Past Chair (browns@macewan.ca)

Sherrill Brown, is likely best known and respected for her former role as chair person of the Alberta Child Care Network Association where she supported a number of new initiatives rolling out in Alberta including the development of a child care accreditation model for Alberta, and the formation of the first ever provincial technical support agency known today as ARCQE. She is also on the faculty of the Early Childhood Development Program and College Research Officer at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. She has been a strong advocate for children, professional child care staff and parents and on early childhood issues in Alberta since the early 1980’s.

Sherrill has a B.Ed (with a diploma in Early Childhood), a M.Ed. and a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta. Recent research interests include: a study funded by HRDC with Jane Hewes titled Full Day Headstart: Early Intervention in Centre-based Child Care; Supporting Speech and Language with Judith Meinzter for Capital Health in Edmonton; Supervising with Style ( 2001) , a video to support professional development in the area of practicum supervision in early childhood; and Co-ordination of ECD, Grant MacEwan college for revision of self study Orientation course

Diane Mckean, Vice Chair (adveninc@shaw.ca)

Diane McKean has been the President of Adventurers School Age Care Ltd. For the past 20 years. She is a Child Development Supervisor with a background in Business and Marketing as well as Facilitation. Her greatest pride is being a School Age Care Specialist and her greatest passion is inclusive childcare and family supports. She sits on many local and provincial committees. In 2005 Diane received the Calgary and Area Award of Excellence, Director/ Owner/Consultant of a School Age program.

Diane is a committed advocate for childcare and was very involved with working towards accreditation for school age children. She believes that quality care for children is a partnership between parents, children, the community and child care professionals. With Diane’s firm belief that partnerships are critical, she is honored to partner with her peers on the Alberta Child Care Association.

Rosetta Sanders, Secretary

Rosetta Sanders career in child care began 20 years ago. Her dedication and hard work in the field, directly with children, has been a joy. Her Early Childhood Diploma, acquired from Medicine Hat College, has served her well as she has ran her own dayhome, and is currently the Director of a full day preschool program. She is a leader in her community and maintains memberships with an array of community organizations. Committed to Early Learning and Care she continues to support excellence through providing additional education to dayhome providers and Early Learning professionals through Entrecorp.

Carol Langner, Treasurer
